Top 5 photographic spots in Barcelona

Barcelona city

We are always looking for the Top 5 photographic spots in Barcelona. Whether for Instagram or for our personal collection Barcelona has many wonderful corners that we can take advantage of and explore. According to Instagram, Barcelona is one of the most photographed places in the world, and we have to take advantage of this. When planning your trip to Barcelona, consider these places to visit.

This is my top 5 places to take pictures in Barcelona:

1) Sagrada Familia:

Designed by Antonio Gaudí. Its construction began in 1882 and is currently still under construction. It is a benchmark of modern Catalan architecture and the second most visited church in Europe. As we have seen in many Instagram accounts, it is a very photogenic place from any perspective. Although it is a very popular place, my recommendation is to go in the morning hours. There are not so many tourists and you can take advantage in good light. If you want to enter, you have to get tickets beforehand directly from their website. It is located on Calle de Mallorca 401.

2) Las Ramblas:

It is an emblematic walk in the center of the city. It goes from Plaza Catalunya to the old port where the monument to Columbus is located. It is a busy place at all hours of the day and night. It has a little more than 1 km and you can find restaurants, souvenir stores, flower sales and different cultural activities.  You will also find the Boqueria market. It is very famous for its variety of fresh foods.

3) La Horta Labyrinth Park:

It is a historic garden located in the district of Horta. It is part of the Catalan cultural heritage. It has numerous sculptures and photogenic corners. Access to the park is free, but if you want to enter the maze it is 2.23euros. You can arrive by subway (L3, stop Mundet)

4) Hotel W:

Also known as Hotel Vela by its shape. Located in Barceloneta, it has become an iconic place in the city. It can be seen along the beach and depending on where you come from, you can see it from the airplane window. The hotel has a bar on the top floor of the hotel overlooking all of Barceloneta.

5) Parc Guell:

It is a park with gardens and architectural elements located at the top of the city in the Gracia neighborhood. The design is a naturist reflection of Gaudí himself, which contains organic figures that express free creativity. The gardens around the park are freely accessible. The internal gardens have a cost of 10 euros. For me, the best photos are taken on the internal terrace that overlooks the entire city. The park opens at 8:30 am and closes at 7pm. Sometimes a few minutes before closing, the park lets you in for free. It’s great, since you can arrive just at sunset (golden hour) and take amazing photos.

Bonus:

Arch of Triumph:

It is a historical monument created in 1888 by different artists. It is dedicated to artistic, scientific and economic progress. It is 30 meters high and retains its original design. It is located in Passeig de Lluis Companys, going down Paseo San Juan.

Tibidabo:

It is an amusement park that is 512 meters above sea level. It is ideal to spend Sunday afternoon or enjoy a beer and enjoy the scenery. It has views over the entire city and attractions for all ages. There is also the temple of the Sacred Heart.

The Carmel Bunkers:

It was built at the time of the civil war of 1937. Today it is a viewpoint high up in Barcelona, where people gather to sing, have a few beers and see the city. Access is free and lately, it is a place visited by tourists and locals.

I hope this post will help you get to know some of the top 5 photographic spots in Barcelona. Surely you will have some beautiful photos that will remind you of the beauty of Barcelona.
